Goal Setting and Career Planning?????

Big Question.. Isn't it? But Answer is pretty simple.

Many at times goal setting is done in organizations only to ensure appraisal process runs smoothly - But inclusive of this managers can take few points into consideration while structuring this document.

: Discuss with team member on his/her long term goals
: Every Employee would make few plans in their personal life - align them professionally as well - sounds ridiculous but does wonders - Personal Life is biggest factor that can either motivate or demotivate any human professionally
: Biggest Strengths you have observed for a period of time about the employee - check their viewpoints on the same and align their goals accordingly. (I know I am good with the task , It will give me confidence to grow from within).
: Don't ridicule the negative aspects - It's ok to be not perfect but expecting too much of perfection is also unfair
: Everyone wants to be a winner but recognizing the winning talent from inside is the key to success

Career Planning as a individual goal

: Aligning career planning to goal setting can help individuals attain their personal and professional goals to a large extent.
: Career Planning can be done starting with the shorter duration and moving towards long term
: Doing a SWOT Analysis holds true while planning one's career
: I , ME , MYSELF is a very important factor in career planning
: Adhering to current trends / Understanding the industry best practices also helps to enhance onself
: Updating onself on a continuous bases in the best way to stay tuned to the latest practices
: Interacting with fellow corporates in the same field / understanding growth patterns/ doing a bit of market study does help

At the end of the day what matters most is whether being born as humans what have i learnt that differentiates me from others and have i given back something to the society i live in..
