What is Career Planning / Goal Setting => Something that's done during post your performance review for the next appraisal cycle. For usage any number of jargon's may sound interesting but comprehensive answer is significant to understanding this concept is primary for an Human Resource Professional who is into Manpower/Resource Planning
or Resource Analyst.

  • . Goal Setting is done at various stages - Long Term / Short Term / Appraisal Period / Specific Goal/Task Oriented etc..
  • . Career Planning is done at 2 levels - Long Term and Short Term

Goal Setting as a Mechanism for Growth: How?

Big Question.. Isn't it? But Answer is pretty simple. Many at times goal setting is done in organizations only to ensure appraisal process runs smoothly - But inclusive of this managers can take few points into consideration while structuring this document.

  • :Discuss with team member on his/her long term goals
  • : Every Employee would make few plans in their personal life - align them professionally as well - sounds ridiculous but does wonders - Personal Life is biggest factor that can either motivate or demotivate any human professionally
  • : Biggest Strengths you have observed for a period of time about the employee - check their viewpoints on the same and align their goals accordingly. I know I am good with it , It will give me confidence to grow from within.

Restless Mind... Conquering all Odds


Why are we so restless?

Our hands are fidgety when typing - when trying to open a new website - even to type something on the phone - alas the smartphones where the touch plays the role - we are still restless

Is it the mind or our hands? In today's mad chaotic life we are losing the primary aspect of 'being there'. Ahem Ahem -- TOO PHILOSOPHICAL.
  • I was sitting yesterday in the balcony watching a group of children playing a football - everyone else were running and only 1 was standing and waiting. I went on following their game for quite some time - realized suddenly the essential management funda. If everyone runs - who will sit back and evaluate. If everyone evaluates then who will run. Do we have a good mix today? Can't be judgmental about it but I feel NO. As you scale up the ladder - Realization dawns about the same.
  • Quality nowadays is the prerogative for everyone. Every single person wants quality - be in personal / professional / music / movies absolutely anything. 
  •  What is the chemistry - everyone talks about chemistry nowadays . Actual chemistry should be between family members -  between friends - between team members - between manager and subordinates - between domestic helps and housemates - between regular helpers and homemakers - between children and children. All that is Lacking today as everyone's busy in their own little worlds. 
May be if we focus our minds on right time and right thing.. hmm - random thoughts again.
